I've recommended this book to quite a number of people who were dealing with the loss of a dog. If there is a dog heaven, then Cynthia Rylant knows what it looks like. This book will make you cry and feel good at the same time. Get it for yourself or for someone else. Apparently I'm not alone in my praise for this book - check out the reader reviews at Amazon.com - it consistently gets a 5 star rating.

If it is not available from Amazon.com, with any luck you'll run across a bookstore where they still have it in stock. Otherwise pick it up at a library. Wonderful for children as it covers the responsibilities of owning a dog - not too bad for adults, either!
